Children’s Book Council of Australia (WA Branch) 

The Children’s Book Council of Australia is a volunteer  organisation that exists to:

  • Encourage young people of all ages to read and enjoy books
  • Promote excellence in books for young people by encouraging Australian authors and illustrators
  • Encourage high standards of reviewing
  • Support schools and public libraries in their efforts to encourage young people to read and enjoy quality literature

Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators     

 This a professional organisation for writers and illustrator’s of children’s books.  Although members do not need to be published it is  an organisation for professionally  minded author/illustrators that support excellence in children’s literature and discuss industry issues (rather than a writer’s group/centre).
