In this vividly illustrated picture book, Ezekiel Kwaymullina and Sally Morgan take us on a journey of imagination, thrusting the reader into a kaleidoscope of colour and rich imagery that begs examination. This book could be enjoyed on many levels — older readers will pore over the pictures and words and wonder about their meaning, while littlies can simply enjoy the short narrative and delight in the pictures. It is fascinating to see Morgan’s revitalisation of traditional Australian artwork with the intense use of colour and movement, making it not only highly appealing for young readers but also intriguing for adults to interpret and appreciate.
