Dr Carla Litchfield’s book Saving Orangutans is 32 pages of beautiful glossy colour photographs and descriptive information about our tree dwelling simian friends. While the book is aimed at primary school children, it is a delight for book lovers of any age. Readers are taken on a visual journey and learn a seriesof interesting facts about orang-utans.
Did you know that orangutans are really quite like humans?
Did you know that male orangutans have two different stages of adulthood?
Did you know that orangutans know how to find more than 500 different types of plants?
Teachers will be pleased to know that the book includes a glossary and index page, with a list of useful websites and references. Readers are encouraged to think about sustainability and conservation, and their very own role in making sure orang-utans never become extinct.
