Clementine Rose and the Surprise Visitor is the first book in a new series for girls from the bestselling author of the Alice-Miranda series, Jacqueline Harvey, and has a very English flavour.

Clementine Rose is found by Pierre Rousseau, the village baker, in the back of a mini-van in a basket of dinner rolls as he is delivering goods to Lady Clarissa. Lady Clarissa takes the baby’s arrival in her stride as she does most things.

So begins the story of a lovely little girl who lives in Penberthy Floss in a large ramshackle house with her mother, Lady Clarissa, Digby Pertwhistle the butler, and a very sweet teacup pig called Lavender.

Clementine Rose a sweet little girl who likes to be helpful but things do not always go as she plans. When the dreaded Aunt Violet arrives a day early, this can only mean trouble is ahead. The household is thrown into disarray. What is it that Aunt Violet really wants and what is she carrying in her mysterious black bag?
