The WA School Library Association offers a range of benefits to members including:
- Professional development in all aspects of school library information services,
- Newsletters and the professional publication IC3,
- We assist a teacher librarian, Margaret Muthiga, from Kilimo Primary School, Njoro, Kenya in Africa. We’ve helped organise to send a shipment of books, which were much appreciated.
- A recognised state and national (ASLA) body, which will represent you in the maintenance and improvement of standards in the school library information services,
- Advocacy in all facets of teacher librarianship and school library services,
- Research related to the role of school library and information services.
The Association encourages all school library staff to take up this great opportunity.
As a largely volunteer run professional association WASLA seeks your assistance to minimise administrative time and costs.
All memberships and IC3 and ACCESS (ASLA Journal) subscriptions operate on a January to December basis, and payment by 31st March 2012 will also ensure you do not miss any issues of this valuable professional journal.
Full Institutional Membership of WASLA provides you with:
- attendance for two persons from the member institution, to all WASLA/ASLA activities at the Member rate,
- newsletters and notice of activities from the local association,
- one subscription to IC3, the new WASLA journal, and
- Access to the Members Only Resources section of the WASLA website.
All Other Memberships of WASLA provides you with:
- Attendance for one person to all WASLA/ASLA activities at the Member rate,
- Newsletters and notice of activities from the local association,
- one subscription to IC3, the WASLA journal, and
- access to the Members Only Resources section of the WASLA website.
- Individual memberships are not transferable.
